John Scott’s Stitch & Bitch is a two day retreat for sewers, stitchers, crafters and anyone who enjoys a really good natter. Hosted by John, it’s a relaxed, social experience with no classes, workshops or demos, just time to stitch, chat and enjoy it your way together.
Across the two days you’ll enjoy dedicated stitching time, exclusive behind-the-scenes films, John’s one-man show, a special mystery guest and a few extra surprises along the way, all bringing everyone together and making it feel like something genuinely memorable.
Everything is included with comfortable accommodation, great food across both days and a fabulous evening entertainment all taken care of. You can simply turn up, get stuck in and enjoy being part of a very special experience, with absolutely no hidden costs.

This is a relaxed, social retreat with no classes, workshops or demos. Expect hand stitching sessions, plenty of chat, exclusive films, fun, entertainment and time with John and fellow guests.
Not at all. The retreat is designed for all skill levels - whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned stitcher, you'll be very welcome.
Absolutely! We fully expect that the majority of guests will come on their own and the retreat is designed to be friendly, welcoming and social from the moment you arrive. Everyone will be given a VIP name pass on arrival so you'll be able to get to know each other easily.
The event begins at 9:00am on Friday 22nd January and finishes at approximately 4:30pm on Saturday 23rd January.
Everyone is genuinely welcome including males, partners and friends of any background - we promise they will fit right in.
The retreat is intentionally kept small - around 100 guests across the two days - so it stays personal, friendly and easy to get to know everyone.
All ages are welcome, however with John's candid and open style, the retreat is best suited to those aged 18+.
Yes, you're very welcome to bring a partner or carer along, however each person attending will need to book their own place so everything included in the retreat can be provided for everyone.
Yes - if you already know who you'd like to share with, just choose the shared room option when booking and provide their details.
Yes - if you'd like to share to reduce the cost, we can pair you with another guest of the same sex and introduce you both by email closer to the time.
No - you can either book and pay for both guests yourself, or simply provide the details of the person you're sharing with.
Yes - if you're sharing with a friend or loved one, you can choose between a double or twin room setup. If you select to be buddied up, you'll automatically be allocated a twin room. If you're booking a solo room you don't need to make a choice.
No - the event is designed as a complete package and all pricing is based on staying overnight at the hotel. With a full evening of entertainment planned, even if you live locally we'd highly recommend staying over so you can relax and be fresh for day two.
Unfortunately not. The hotel and event spaces are reserved exclusively for guests booked onto the retreat, with catering, access and facilities all arranged as part of the package, so everyone staying must be part of the event.
Your booking includes one night's accommodation at the Village Hotel Warrington between day one and day two, plus access to the hotel's facilities including free parking, free WiFi and the leisure club.
Yes - you can add an optional pre-event stay on Thursday 21st January for an additional charge, so you can relax and ease into the experience ahead of the event.
Yes - you can add an optional post-event stay on Saturday 23rd January for an additional charge so you can unwind for a further evening before heading home the next morning.
On day one, a buffet lunch and a three-course dinner. On day two, breakfast and afternoon tea. Plus unlimited tea, coffee and snacks throughout the two days.
Yes - breakfast is included with your hotel stay on the Saturday morning. If you add the optional night before, breakfast is also included the following morning.
Yes - we'll be in touch closer to the event to collect dietary requirements and do our best to accommodate them.
Yes - complimentary access to the Village Hotel's leisure club (pool, steam room, sauna and gym) is included with your stay.
Yes - free WiFi is available throughout the hotel and the event spaces.
You're welcome to bring along your own sewing, stitching or craft project to enjoy during the Stitch & Bitch sessions. As part of your goodie bag, you'll also receive an exclusive hand stitching kit to use during the retreat and take home.
Absolutely yes. This is a personal, hosted experience with John Scott at the heart of it, and he'll be there throughout – across the day, into the evening and right through the event, with plenty of opportunities to spend time together.

This isn't just a daytime retreat – it's designed as a full getaway experience across both day and evening. Friday night includes a red carpet arrival, a three-course dinner, John's one man show and music afterwards, with a lively disco and private bar through to around midnight.
No, but it's highly recommended as it's a big part of the overall experience. That said, you're of course free to relax and enjoy the hotel facilities if you'd prefer to dip in and out.

There's no strict dress code - go smart casual or dress up a little for the red carpet, dinner and show. Wear whatever makes you feel good.
This is the only part of the retreat not included. There will be a private bar available in the evening where you can purchase soft drinks, alcoholic drinks, teas and coffees.

Very easy - the hotel is less than 10 minutes from both Warrington Bank Quay and Warrington Central, with direct connections from across the UK.
Yes - a complimentary transfer to both Warrington train stations is included at the end of the event. We recommend booking return trains from 5:30pm onwards.
Yes - free on-site parking is included for the duration of your stay.
As you enter the main hotel reception - there'll be a Stitch & Bitch welcome desk set up where our team will check you in and hand over your goodie bag!
If you choose monthly payments, the total cost is split into 6 equal monthly payments - interest free with no credit check - collected automatically from the card you use when you place your booking.
Yes - you can choose either to pay in full at the time of booking or spread the cost over 6 monthly payments.
As per our Booking Terms & Conditions - all bookings are non-refundable. However, if you are unable to attend after booking, we will allow you to transfer your place to someone else.
Unfortunately no, we only accept payment via our Stripe payment gateway which is safe and secure, accepting Visa, Mastercard and American Express.
Please note: American Express doesn't usually support monthly payments, so if you'd like to spread the cost we recommend using a Visa or Mastercard.
Yes - a receipt is automatically emailed to you after each successful payment.
If a monthly payment doesn't go through, we'll email you straight away to let you know and Stripe will automatically retry. Your booking won't be cancelled - just update your card details via the link in the email and you'll be back on track. All monthly payments must be complete by 22nd December 2026.
